Small Pets Welcome

We all love pets, & we welcome pets as part of your home.

Pet Policy & Responsible Living

At The Butler Place, we welcome pets as part of your home. With that comes a shared responsibility to ensure our property remains clean, respectful, and comfortable for everyone, residents, guests, and their animals alike.

This is a shared living environment. Thoughtful pet ownership helps protect that experience for all.

Shared Spaces Matter

Our lawns, walkways, and common areas are enjoyed by all residents.

  • Pets must be supervised at all times when outdoors

  • Please clean up immediately after your pet, no exceptions

  • Waste must be properly disposed of in designated bins

  • Do not allow pets to roam freely on the property

Leaving waste behind impacts the experience of others and the overall care of the property.

Respect for Other Residents

Not everyone shares the same comfort level with animals.

  • Keep pets calm and controlled in shared areas

  • Be mindful of personal space, do not allow pets to approach others without consent

  • Excessive barking or noise must be addressed promptly

A peaceful environment is a priority for everyone who lives here.

Inside Your Home

Your suite should remain clean, well-kept, and free from pet-related damage.

  • Pets must be house-trained

  • Maintain a clean, odour-free space

  • Regularly clean litter boxes, cages, and tanks

  • Take preventative steps to protect floors, walls, and fixtures

Preventing Damage

Protecting the property is part of responsible tenancy.

  • Provide scratching posts, toys, and stimulation for your pet

  • Do not leave pets unattended for extended periods if it leads to destructive behaviour

  • Supervise small animals when outside enclosures

  • Keep cords, furniture, and finishes protected

Any damage must be reported promptly and repaired accordingly.

Pet Care & Well-Being

A well-cared-for pet is a well-behaved pet.

  • Ensure your pet receives proper food, water, and daily care

  • Provide regular exercise and attention

  • Arrange care if you are away from your home

  • Maintain your pet’s health and hygiene

Neglect or improper care will not be tolerated.

Our Standard

Pet-friendly does not mean unrestricted. It means mutual respect, accountability, and care.

Failure to follow these guidelines may result in warnings or further action, including removal of pet privileges.

At The Butler Place, we’ve created a space where both people and pets can feel at home, comfortably, respectfully, and responsibly.

Pet Deposit & Additional Information

Pet Deposit
At The Butler Place, we welcome pets with the understanding that proper care and responsibility are essential to maintaining our homes.
A pet damage deposit is required for all approved pets.

  • The deposit is collected at the start of your tenancy or upon pet approval

  • It is held as security against any pet-related damage to the unit or property

  • The deposit is refundable at the end of your tenancy, provided the suite is left clean and free of damage beyond normal wear and tear

Any necessary repairs, cleaning, or odour removal related to pets may be deducted from the deposit.

Pet Approval Requirement
All pets must be approved prior to being brought into the unit.
A Pet Application Form must be completed and submitted for each pet. Approval is required before your pet is permitted on the property.
A separate email with the Pet Application Form will be sent upon application approval. (* this must be filled out)

Important Notes

  • Additional conditions may apply depending on the type, size, and number of pets

  • Tenants remain fully responsible for any damage or disturbance caused by their pet
